… or aphorisms, if you like.

The ferocity of the mafia is unleashed at the first futile, commonplace attempt at profiteering. The smaller and more senseless the pretext, the more ferocious the criminal. The aim is a demonstration of power, in fact, not a demonstration of common sense. The same goes for the abuses of power that arise from the mafia culture. When the facts emerge, favoritism and enmities must be assessed because with words you can say anything but, in reality, criminals always diminish the faults of their affiliates and always exaggerate the faults of their enemies, without sparing themselves from descending into futile and personal issues to simulate a pending personal issue. When insinuations are not enough, there is no shortage of women, or even men, ready to sacrifice public decorum. Women will be more flirtatious, men more scurrilous, to adapt to the popular male chauvinist culture.
