According to some famous thinkers in history, we should avoid telling the existing evil in order to erase it definitively. I believe that it is more effective to make evil known in order to teach how to avoid it because those who preach evil do so in whispers anyway. But we must also make another distinction. If avoiding reporting existing evil also means avoiding opposing the wicked and means avoiding defending the victims, then this is called omertà.
