How does criminal culture systematically and casually manage to overturn the value of reality?
The question is very indigestible, almost unbelievable, but logically simple.
Criminals, wicked people, opportunists, idolaters (call them what you want) are constantly looking for the result and the power to achieve it easily. They do not understand the value of the path to achieve the result. They do not understand the value of merit, they do not understand it at all. This means wanting positions of command without understanding what the responsibility of command is, for example. It also means wanting a human relationship without understanding the value of affection. I am clearly talking about harassment. The same fixed mental pattern is repeated for all crimes: from jewelry robberies to political terrorism. Robbers devalue the value of jewelry and, above all, the work that goes into making and valorising them. Terrorists want to impose their will, perhaps, at times, convinced of the value of their political plan but they do not understand the value of democracy and debate. They generally unload their responsibilities onto the weakest sections of the population. Even the communist regime of the Soviet Union needed the gulags to ensure that no one would question the dictator of the moment who also had the presumption of representing, alone, the popular will of the people that he is silencing with brutal 0methods. In any case, dictators of every place and every era want power and not the responsibility of power. Even Satanists always lure new followers by building around themselves the image of success but this image falls very quickly to make room for blackmail.
I have so far described the nature of idolatry but the worst living example of idolatry is the Italian mafia. Mafiosi are always looking for positions of power but never want to come out into the light0 in person. In Italy, the mafiosi manage national politics and local public administrations, they infect health care and the police because they want to be the ones in charge, to decide where the executioner’s axe should be lowered but they do not want responsibility for the fact because the most vile need is to satisfy their multifaceted greed, to compensate for the repressed frustrations of the moment but they do not want to pay for their sins or be recognized for their sins. The mafia is today the most serious example of idolatry on earth.
